PRODUCT VIDEO BUYING DECISIONS
How much does product video production cost?
For a US ecommerce brand, an agency or a China-based seller, ask ‘What can my publishing or advertising team use?’ alongside ‘How much is a video?’ Velnox produces original live-action consumer-tech content in Zhuzhou, Hunan, China, for domestic and international buyers. These are our reference ranges—not an industry average.
Velnox reference ranges, with the unit made clear
A complete finished product video has a reference range of US$150–500 / finished video. Suitable batch projects have a reference range of US$100–300 / agreed item. The second range is not a cheaper price for the same full film: each batch item must be defined in the quote.
An item might be a scoped film, edit version or selected footage deliverable. Confirm its specifications and quantity. These are not fixed fees or a ceiling for every brief; special requirements need separate assessment.
1. Choose the deliverable before comparing prices
A product-page demonstration, a social post and reusable footage are different assignments. Ask for a written list instead of treating every exported file as another original video.
| You need | Specify in the quote |
|---|---|
| A finished film | Product, concept, filmed actions, duration, aspect ratio and language. |
| Creative variations | Which master supplies the footage; what changes in the hook, text, length or ratio. |
| Reusable footage | Selected shots or actions, clip specifications and clean-file requirements; camera originals are not automatic. |
2. Compare quotes on the same scope
Complexity, product preparation, duration, quantities, versions and usage affect the quote. A new demonstration may require another setup; another caption export may not require filming. Compare these separately.
Check whether the scope covers planning, scripting, filming, editing and the requested sound treatment. Confirm review handling, required accessories and sample arrangements. Do not infer what is included from a short price label, or calculate a package total by multiplying the batch reference range.
A ‘product video’ charge may buy production, generated outputs or creator sourcing. Establish what it covers before comparing deliverables; one project may combine these approaches.
| What the charge covers | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Commissioned live-action production | Who handles planning, the physical product shoot, editing and delivery? Which work and files are included in the project quote? |
| AI-generated content or tool usage | Is the charge based on credits, outputs, finished duration or a project scope? Confirm whether product filming, human post-production, revisions and usage licensing are included or separate. |
| Creator sourcing or platform services | Does the charge cover finding, contacting or managing creators? Confirm whether creator production fees and content usage rights are included or agreed separately. |
3. Approve the shooting plan and script before production
You can start with a product link, audience, intended use and the points you want to communicate. After scope and quote are agreed, Velnox develops the shooting plan, copy and script. Spoken presentation or voiceover can be planned when useful; a finished script from the client is not a prerequisite.
Your team approves that direction before filming. We then shoot and edit a draft for review, with revisions handled as agreed. Confirm the target language, recording approach and who approves product claims and pronunciation before recording.
4. Plan useful variations without repeating the whole shoot
Bring the publishing and ad teams into the brief early. Identify reusable product actions and the versions they actually need, then agree what can share a shoot. Planning clean footage, alternate openings or framing needs in advance can reduce avoidable repeat filming; it does not make every additional version free.
For recurring content, group priorities by product readiness and purpose. A batch is a defined list, not unlimited production or fixed monthly output.
5. Check usage and files alongside the price
List final films, cutdowns, subtitles and selected clips separately, with resolution, format and aspect ratio. Agree platforms, territories, duration and any music or creator-identity permissions. A file transfer alone does not establish all usage rights.
Production can be purchased for your own channels, product pages or campaigns without a Velnox post or access to your social accounts. Publishing and media management are separate decisions. Compare the portfolio's visible work with your brief rather than assuming views establish advertising results.
Questions before you commission production
Is US$150–500 a fixed price for any product video?
No. It is a reference range per finished video. The quote depends on creative and production requirements, versions, specifications and usage; some briefs need separate assessment.
Can China-based clients pay in RMB and receive an invoice?
RMB settlement and invoicing are available for China-based clients. Confirm the invoice type and billing details, final amount, currency and payment schedule for your project before payment. Tell us which payment method your team normally uses; we will work with you to confirm a suitable payment arrangement before payment. Prices are shown in USD for reference; the billing currency and final amount are confirmed in your project quote, not calculated here using a fixed exchange rate.
Does US$100–300 mean every batch item is a complete video?
No. The quote defines each item and its quantity. Master films, hooks, cutdowns and selected B-roll are not interchangeable units, and the range is not a monthly package total.
Do I need to write the script myself?
No. Share your product, audience and requirements. After agreeing scope and quote, our team prepares the plan and script for approval before filming; your team checks product information and the intended direction.
Can I buy content without buying influencer posting?
Yes. Commission production for your own brand accounts, ecommerce pages or ad team. Velnox publishing, when requested, is scoped separately.
What should I send to get a useful quote?
Send the product and model, intended use, sample location, target language, approximate film or asset quantities, required versions, budget and requested timing. Undecided items can be discussed rather than guessed.
